GERMANTOWN HS
CLASS OF 1980

To help foster and strengthen the relationship among the Germantown High School alumni and represent one of the graduation classes from 1917 to 2013. The doors of this Philadelphia high school were officially closed on June 19, 2013, but the spirit of the Bears (school mascot) is still alive in the hearts of all the alumni. Also, the school colors were green and white.

CHALLENGES:

The challenge was to work with the school alumni to promote awareness of an upcoming class reunion event. As a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, my goal was to satisfy the wants and needs of the alumni by increasing ticket sales by introducing new branding, new creative advertising, and new product introduction.

SOLUTIONS:

Create the look and feel of the event

and design deliverables based on group discussions, group feedback, and cost analysis. My task was to provide options (sketches, client presentations, layouts, logo design, tee-shirt design, graphic design,  illustration, and file prep production).

ONLY SOME OF THE DELIVERABLES ARE SHOWN (ART/DESIGN BY TONY ODOM):

1) Logo Design

2) Tee Shirt Design

3) Backdrop Design

RESULTS:

Overall the designs were well received.

There was an increase in awareness of the event and good ticket sales in the beginning. The cancelation of the event was due to the Covid lockdown.
